KRISTUS KUT

The name, the name... for some reason a lot of dutch people have a big problem with it. Some say it is a joke (and they are a bit true), others say it is silly and others are offended by it, thinking it has to do with anti christianity.

It’s a name. A name with contradictions. Kristus (Christ) is something brightful, Kut (cunt) is something delightful and a in dutch often a word used to curse. The name is extreme cause Kristus Kut is about extremes. Tender and hard. Wild and peaceful. Love versus hate. You can’t have light without darkness.

Kristus Kut is about energy. Kristus Kut is full of live. Inspired by the forces of nature. The powers of the orisha. The nature of man. We all have desires. Fire. Water. Air. Earth. All the elements are in us.

With Kristus Kut I explore the bright and dark sides of my inner self. Sounds can be used to reach an higher state of being. The deep bass sounds, the monotone rhythms, the repetitive noises, words hidden, vocal chants it all helps to reach an higher state of consciousness. Just like the shamans do, just like the vodou ritual dances, go on a journey. Go to that place you never been before...

A Kristus Kut performance is all about improvisation. And is never the same. Often alone, sometimes with the help of others, Kristus Kut creates a ritual that is unique. This ritual brought Kristus Kut to festivals like the Berlin Schlagtstrom, the Spektrofest in Istanbul, Live Noises in Antwerp, Summer Darkness in Utrecht and lots of other more or less famous festivals through Europe.

For those who want to experience the Kristus Kut sound in their living room, bedroom, attic, wherever.... Kristus Kut has released many recorings on different labels like Quartier23, Mindflare Media, SkulllineRecords, Bone Structure and so on.

…and let me tell you a secret. Kristus Kut works perfect on the second Chakra...
